Thai Massage Literally translated as the "ancient-manner massage" Thai massage generally follows the Sen lines on the body — somewhat analogous to meridians and Indian nadis, using hands and usually straight forearms locked at the elbow to apply firm rhythmic pressure. A full Thai massage session typically lasts two hours, stretching the entire body; including pulling fingers, toes, ears, cracking the knuckles, walking on the recipient's back, and arching the recipient into bhujangasana or (cobra position). Biography

Jennifer Knowles has been a practicing massage therapist for nearly a decade, over half of that time holding her own private practice. After completing massage school with some of the southeast's most sought after instructors, Steven Jurch (author of Clinical Massage Therapy (McGraw Hill 2009)) and Johnny Zecopoulos (massage therapist of 1996 Summer Olympic Games and U.S. Track and Field Trials), Jennifer went on to complete an Ashtanga based yoga teacher training in the summer of 2004. Years later, through the suggestion of a friend, Jennifer received a Thai massage and knew instantly this was a modality she wanted to offer. In January of 2008 Jennifer completed a 5 week professional intensive training in the ancient art of Thai massage at TMC, Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Since then she has deepened her Thai practice with the study of Swe-Thai, a modality combining the accupressure and stretching of traditional Thai massage with the specificity and benefits of a deep tissue Western (table) treatment.

Jennifers background in anatomical movement and yoga, along with her training in both Eastern and Western modalities makes for a massage session that is powerfully therapeutic yet deeply relaxing. Great for seasoned massage goers and first timers alike.
